Three CPA Legislative Supporters Receive Awards

Feb. 1, 2012: Representative Linda Forry, Senator Sal DiDominico and Representative Stephen Kulik were recently honored as "Legislators of the Year" by two statewide associations for their work on behalf of CPA.

Representative Forry of Dorchester, and Senator DiDominico of Everett were both honored by the Massachusetts Chapter of the American Planning Association. The Community Preservation Coalition nominated Representative Forry and Senator DiDominico for this award, in recognition of their hard work to strengthen the CPA as co-chairs of the Committee on Community Development and Small Business.

“Our committee has worked diligently this year to advance legislation such as the Community Preservation Act, which will help strengthen neighborhoods and allow our communities to stay strong and thrive,” DiMomenico said in statement.

Representative Steve Kulik, the House sponsor for HB 765, An Act to Sustain Community Preservation, was named Legislator of the Year by the Massachusetts Recreation and Park Association. Also nominated by the Coalition, Representative Kulik of Worthington was recognized for his tireless championing of the bill, and his ongoing work to improve CPA.
