Alison has over 10 years’ experience working in the nonprofit and government sector. A long time environmental advocate, she has served on the Executive Committee for the MA Sierra Club, and has been active in her community with Green Newton, the Newton Conservators, and the League of Women Voters.  Her professional experience includes community organizing, coalition building, strategic planning and political strategy. A Newton native, and a graduate of Simmons College, she was elected to the Newton City Council in 2013 and serves on the Zoning and Planning Committee and acts as Vice Chair of the Programs and Services Committee.

Alison will be working closely with the Coalition team on advocating for the Community Preservation Act at the state level, including bolstering the state trust fund to ensure a strong partnership between the Commonwealth and participating communities. In addition, she is looking forward to working with local communities on understanding, adopting and implementing the CPA.
